Absorbing inspiration from a trip to Mexico, MUT Design has created «Totem,» a modular stone sculpture that merges cultural references with urban functionality. Composed of dark stone cuboids in varying proportions, the design features precision-cut horizontal, vertical, or stepped bands that create a dynamic play of light and shadow, shifting with changes in light and perspective. Described by the designers as «dramatic monoliths,» Totem’s modularity allows it to transform into benches, tables, climbing structures, or simply stand as art. Intended for universities, it serves as both sculptural urban furniture and architectural decoration with structural versatility.
